UIS Expands 180 Power Push Compatibility to Support Safer Pipe Installation

New head brackets broaden machine compatibility as the industry continues to strengthen safe working practices

UIS Tooling & Technologies has expanded the compatibility of its 180 Power Push system with the introduction of two new custom head brackets, enabling the attachment to be used across an even wider range of excavators.

The latest development forms part of UIS’ ongoing commitment to improving safety, consistency and efficiency during polyethylene (PE) pipe installation, while supporting contractors in meeting evolving industry expectations around safer site practices.

As utility companies continue to place greater emphasis on reducing manual handling risks and improving control during pipe installation, demand for mechanical installation methods has continued to grow. The introduction of new legislation and industry guidance surrounding coil trailers and pipe handling has further highlighted the importance of adopting safer, more controlled working methods across the sector.

The UIS 180 Power Push has been developed to provide operators with a controlled method of pushing polyethylene pipe into position, helping reduce manual intervention while delivering a consistent and repeatable installation process.

Greater Compatibility Across More Machines

To support a wider range of contractors and fleet configurations, UIS has introduced two new custom head brackets, increasing the number of excavator models that can utilise the system.

The latest production batch is now available for:

  • 1.8 tonne JCB and SANY excavators
  • 3 tonne SANY and Kubota excavators
  • 5 tonne JCB and SANY excavators
  • 8 tonne JCB and SANY excavators

The expanded compatibility allows more utility contractors to integrate the Power Push into their existing fleets without requiring specialist machinery, making safer installation methods more accessible across projects of varying sizes.

Supporting Safer Installation Standards

Mechanical pipe installation continues to play an increasingly important role in improving both operator safety and installation quality throughout the utilities sector.

By providing greater control during the installation process, the UIS 180 Power Push helps reduce the physical demands placed on operatives while promoting a safer, more standardised approach to PE pipe installation.

As the industry continues to evolve, UIS remains committed to developing practical solutions that respond to changing operational requirements and support contractors in delivering safer, more efficient utility projects.
