Power Push and Power Handler units helping deliver the Oldbury to Meriden pipeline scheme

UIS Tooling & Technologies is proud to be supporting Forkers Ltd in the delivery of the Oldbury to Meriden pipeline, one of the largest water infrastructure projects currently underway in the Midlands.
Delivered on behalf of Severn Trent, the scheme forms part of a wider AMP8 and AMP9 investment programme that will see approximately 70km of new water pipeline installed to strengthen the region’s long-term water resilience. The Oldbury to Meriden section alone involves the installation of around 16km of 1200mm diameter polyethylene pipeline, capable of transferring up to 97 megalitres of water per day.
To support the installation works, UIS has supplied 1200mm Power Push pipe pushing attachments together with 1400mm Power Handler units, helping site teams handle and install large-diameter polyethylene pipe safely and efficiently.
Supporting safer installation

Installing large-diameter PE pipe presents significant handling challenges, particularly on projects of this scale where productivity, safety and consistency are essential.
The UIS Power Push provides contractors with a controlled method of pushing pipe into position, reducing manual handling while improving installation consistency. Alongside this, the UIS Power Handler enables safe lifting, positioning and rotation of large-diameter pipe sections during installation.
Together, the systems help improve site safety while supporting efficient project delivery.
Working in partnership

Major infrastructure schemes rely on collaboration across the entire supply chain, with specialist contractors and equipment manufacturers working together to deliver complex projects safely and efficiently.
UIS is pleased to be working alongside Forkers Ltd and contributing to a project that will help improve water resilience for communities across the Midlands for years to come.
We would like to thank the Forkers team for their continued confidence in UIS equipment and look forward to following the progress of this important infrastructure project.helps contractors maintain productivity while supporting safer and more sustainable working practices.
