Our Story
In 1985, a 17-year-old apprentice named Joe Iredale began working in the gas industry, gaining hands-on experience in the realities of utility infrastructure work. From the very beginning, he developed a deep understanding of the challenges faced by engineers and contractors working in demanding environments.
While working on site, Joe began noticing opportunities where better tools and smarter solutions could make everyday jobs safer, faster and more efficient. That practical mindset and curiosity to improve how things were done would eventually shape the foundations of UIS.
What started as real-world experience in the utilities sector grew into a drive to design and develop innovative tools that solve genuine industry challenges - leading to the creation of UIS Tooling & Technologies.
